Sorry for the late reply! You know, the people here always close their shutters when they leave the house and often even when they're home! In winter its for keeping the warm inside and in summer for keeping it outside. That's why quite a few of the houses I painted have closed shutters - I much prefer the dutch habit of letting people look into your house through big windows without curtains!
