Heavy rain here today, so I stayed in my studio and tried to capture the occasional sunrays peaking through an opening in the clouds. This is definitely the only tidy corner in my studio, believe me! I am thinking of maybe painting the chaotic corners sometime as well, but in this one I wanted to concentrate on the light on the grey walls (unfortuntely not white - yet...) and keep it as simple as possible. I did a second one after this which I will show you tomorrow. By the way, isn't that little sofa beautiful? A friend of mine gave it to me with two matching chairs, because she moved and didn't have any space for it anymore. Lucky me!

Hi Liza,
It looks beautiful. The couch is amazing! I love your interior paintings. So many people are painting their studios grey. But in Canada where that's how the light is for half the year (However right now we've had a solid month of sunshine), I am with you -- go for white. By the way you could live in Halifax, Nova Scotia, or Dartmouth and have both community, city and the sea. Plus you'd have Canadian health care, which is free. And it is pretty warm there most of the time. The odd big snowfall but otherwise temperate.

My dear Barbara, somehow I missed to respond to this comment of your's - so sorry! That's interesting to hear that many people are painting their studios grey! I have never seen another grey studio so far and although it looks nice I think for painting, white walls would definitely be better as they reflect much more light. The problem here is simply that my studio is extremely high (7 meters in the middle) and thus it is quite difficult and expensive to paint the concrete walls.

Who knows, we might also get to Nova Scotia on our planned travels and then we'll see!
