My Things, Pile of Pullovers

My Things, Pile of Pullovers by Liza Hirst

oil on canvas panel - Öl auf Malplatte - huile sur carton entoilé

A while ago I met an art expert from a prestigious auction house in Paris, who explained to me that he can see at first glance which country a painting comes from, depending on the main colour that was used. Apparently the german colour is green and he was not surprised to hear that I am half german when he saw a few of my paintings - I love green. He hated green....

Hi Liza,

I think his theory is ridiculous. I used to hate green, but in the past year I've grown to love it. Maybe that's because of the way you paint.

This is a gorgeous painting.

I also found it quite funny, Philippo, but he was serious about it!

I am pleased you like it, Pam!

I agree with you, Barbara. I didn't believe him either. Perhaps it used to be like that in older times, when the art was more conform in general, but nowadays that certainly doesn't apply.
