Who's she?!

While these two joung men are probably wondering who that gorgeous girl in the sexy dirndl is, I wonder who they are - cool guys....
There were sooo many interesting guests at the wedding that it was impossible to get to know them all.

Baby Schimmerlos

This was an interesting couple - the man looked just like Baby Schimmerlos, whom the Germans among you might remember from the series "Kir Royale", and the woman had some of the longest legs I'd ever seen. Looking at the way she is standing, she might even be a ballet dancer...?
I loved the funny combination of his "Wadenwärmer" (calf warmers!) with the white trainers.

Bavarian Conversation

Another impression from the wedding we were invited to last weekend. There were loads of young, funky people (something you don't see much of around here)and we danced until late into the night. As the bride is originally from Munich in Germany, we all met up again the next day for a "Bayrische Brotzeit", a bavarian lunch with delicious specialities flown in from Munich.
We thoroughly enjoyed "Weißwurst", "Brezel", "Leberkäs" and beer from the "Münchner Hofbräuhaus", the famous brewery in Munich. The best though were the joung people who showed up in their traditional bavarian costumes, the "Dirndl" and the "Lederhosen", topped with little hats, adorned with feathers. These two I discovered in deep conversation and just loved the way they were standing on the green field,contrasting with the colours of their beautiful outfits.

Wedding with "Zavatta"

At last back to the easel - sorry about the delay.
This last weekend we were invited to a wedding - and what a wonderful wedding it was!! For the nearly 200 guests, they had rented a real circus tent from the family "Zavatta", the most famous circus family here in France. So when we arrived in the early evening, this was the first sight we had of the festivities - a big, wonderful circus tent at the top of a huge meadow, next to a pavillion, where the aperitifs where served at the side of a swimming pool. The atmosphere was very special and we had a great night! I will be painting (and telling) more from that unique event!

Again I have been absent here for too long - the move takes up most of our time, but we have also been on a nice little trip to Florence in Italy. What a treat!
Inspite of dreadful weather, we enjoyed the lively atmosphere, fantastic food and lovely Italian people. In the coming week I will be sorting out my studio and decided to paint a studio still life, as long as it is still there.
