Great painting. I like the idea of
garlic dancing, it certainly makes
food dance.

Cool picture of you working -- fascinating.

Take care

Barbara

Dear Barbara, I am sorry I didn't reply to your comment earlier - sometimes I just can't stand sitting at the computer and take time off.
Yes, you are quite right, this is garlic. I am glad you recognized it because my son asked me what it was supposed to be - urrgh...

Oh, and thank you for your comments of course!

xoxo, just noticed a picture of you on this post. Really enjoyed the garlic but your pochade box is what drew me in! I so want one like this!! Did you convert a cigar box or is it ready made?

Hi olha,

Thank you for your comment! My little box is a so called "Guerilla" box which I bought from "Judson's Art Outfitters", an American company.

Unfortunately they don't ship to Europe, but luckily I was going to the States last year anyway and had it sent to my sister's address from where I brought it back with me. I love it, too! I use it mainly for painting outside and for painting something I can't take to the studio. This garlic looked so good on our black marble kitchen top that I decided to paint it there - thus the guerrilla box. I look a bit hunched in the photo because I was sitting on a low stool in order to see the garlic on eye level instead of looking down onto it. It must have looked quite funny and that's why my friend took the photo!

thank you, Liza! I am going to the States in just a few weeks and seriously considering getting it now. Love the ones you can hang up on your neck for stability, but this one comes withe legs and still packing 2,5 lb! Wow. Which size of the box do you use? I am looking for sth to fit my daily 15x15s. Thanks again for your advice!

Hi Olha,
Sorry for the delay in responding.
I think my box is a size 9x12 with an adaption frame for 6x8 (I think). I inserted a piece of polystyrene because the box is designed for stretcher frames. I use canvas panels which are much thinner and don't fit into the clips that hold the frames. But that works very well. Luckily they had a special offer when i bought mine! I wish you good luck in finding just what you want!
