The Wedding

Puh! I've finished it at last! Here's another detail of the wedding picture I told you about a few weeks ago and which is finally completed. It took much longer than I thought and I am very happy that its done. Just hope Sinead and David will like it!

The Wedding detail by Liza Hirst

See the whole painting below - the wedding dinner in the courtyard of the beautiful mansion "Longeveau" here in the Dordogne in the South of France, organized by my friend Bethan, the best wedding planner you could wish for!
It was the perfect setting - so romantic!

Wow Liza,

First I looked at the detail and was very impressed, then I saw the whole painting, what a triumph!!!! They will more than like it, they will absolutely love it. I think it took you no time at all to produce a work of such beauty!

Wow. again.

Gosh Liz - This is really something! What an enchanting painting. The colours are gorgeous and the composition so challenging - well done! But I think the thing that strikes me most is that it feels like it was painted with love! And it therefore makes the love of the day and the couple more palpable. What an extraordinary wedding gift you have given them - even if it was a commission! Bravo for all your hard work - and the tenderness you have shared with them and us. Aliaena

Thank you all so much for your wonderful comments! Oddly enough I haven't heard a word from the couple yet - what does that mean?!
Can't wait to hear their opinion.

It's stunning, Liza! The couple must be rendered speechless by it's awesomeness. Hopefully you'll hear from them soon.

Thank you, Takeyce! They have meanwhile told me that they love the painting except for the lack of joy. They thought they looked depressed (even very depressed) and have asked me to make them and others smile. So, that's what I am working on at the moment, as I do want them to be happy with the final result.
