Our friend Graham who was staying with us for few days, brought back these beautiful, huge plums from one of his walks in the countryside. They seem to be an old variety and remind me of plums we used to eat when I was a child. They're not as perfect as the ones you buy in a supermarket or even at the market nowadays - they seem much more natural though - ancient even! I immediately looked upon them as a great painting model which was precisely why Graham had brought them. Thanks for the inspiration, Graham!

Hi Liza,
They do look like Ontario plums, which have an ancient look when not plumped up (pun unintended) with chemicals.
Super painting,

Who knows, maybe its Ontario I remember them from? It's amazing how sometimes little things can trigger a whole movie in your head - these two plums brought back almost forgotten memories and feelings from deep down in my subconsciousness where they had been sleeping for decades. Wonderful!!!!
