Siorac de Riberac

Siorac de Riberac by Liza Hirst

oil on canvas panel - Öl auf Malplatte - huile sur carton entoilé

Luckily the weather didn't change and we actually had a beautiful, clear, sunny autumn day which was great for painting "plein air". This is our small village as we see it on our way out into the world. It is situated on a slope and overlooks a beautiful valley with it's romanesque church, dating from the 13th century.

Looks beautiful Liza! I love the light on the church...like a fairy tale castle, but lucky you to live by it and dream.

Sorry for the late reply - have been terribly busy these last few days.
I am pleased you like my painting and thank you both very much for leaving a comment!

I have always admired your architecture and the way you handle light on it. Glad you are over there being French.

Thank you, Rick! It's the light that interests me most, that's for sure. Btw, I am not french - I am english-german but have been living here for the last 14 years.
