Winter Sun

Winter Sun by Liza Hirst

oil on canvas panel - Öl auf Malplatte - huile sur carton entoilé

We still haven't been able to go anywhere, but my sweet husband managed to keep the fire going somehow - he miraculously found a huge log he had stored years ago in an overgrown corner of our property. So, with four layers of clothes and lots of mugs of hot tea, we are actually doing better than expected. And... the sun even came out for a while! We keep our fingers crossed for tomorrow.
By the way, this is an oak tree that still has it's leaves in spite of very stormy winds we've had - amazing.

Hi Liza,

A beautiful painting. What amazes me more than anything is that you keep painting in these difficult conditions. You are a real trooper.

Gorgeous work.

Get warm soon~!

This is a beautiful piece. I particularly enjoy the use of the pinks.

You live in a section of the world that people dream about. And now I can see why. These last two landscapes are sublime!

Dear Barbara, no, no, I am not a trooper, believe me - I always feel quite unefficient compared to lots of other daily painters - those with jobs and children and workshops and all sorts of things they manage to do in a day! When I work on commissions for example, I find it very hard to keep up the daily painting as well. That doesn't seem to be a problem for others...
But thank you, my friend - you always make me feel good! You are great!

Well Marcia, it seems more romantique and ideal from a distance, believe me, but nevertheless it is (of course) quite nice. Thank you!
