Sweets

Sweets by Liza Hirst

oil on canvas panel - Öl auf Malplatte - huile sur carton entoilé
15 cm x 15 cm / 5,9" x 5,9"
sold - verkauft - vendu

When painting these sweets in front of my red tin the other day, I was intrigued by the gaudy colours and shiny cellophane they were wrapped in. So they are the stars in today's picture.

Hi Liza,

It's hard to resist these beauties,
in your painting they take on a life of their own. It's a dull, grey day and I'd love to be in your kitchen drinking a coffee, and maybe having a candy.

That would be great! Slowly but surely the first signs of spring are popping up here, like the swarms of wild geese flying over our house towards the north. Wonderful!
