This is similar to a red chair my uncle painted years ago, on a black background - but I only had a xerox copy of his chair and it became too wrinkled to frame. I was thrilled to see your red chair today! I can display the image in my library, where I have a red chair (different shape and shade) and an orange chair.

I admire so many of your paintings and it is hard to purchase just one. But this one seems special to me.

Beautiful, LIza! I love the way the red just pops and vibrates off the soft green background.

Hi Liza,

This is beautiful. By the way, Happy, Happy, Happy Birthday. I hope there was a party and dancing!

Great interior scenes... love the color and brush work and this chair just really vibrates with energy and life. A simple subject turned into a work of art!

Sorry for the late reply and thank you all so much for your kind comments! We are in the process of moving house, a big house full of stuff we have accumulated over 15 years as a family and you can imagine what that means! I try to paint at least regularly if not every day, but unfortunately my replies to comments and emails will have to be neglected a bit for a while. So please don't think, I wouldn't appreciate your comments if I don't react or comment on your blogs - it is simply due to lack of time and energy! I am pleased you like my painting. Thanks a lot!

I keep coming back to this painting. The colours work beautifully and the brushwork is both strong and sutble at the same time. It makes want to look at it again and again. Well done Liza
