Camion Bleu

Camion Bleu by Liza Hirst

oil on canvas panel - Öl auf Malplatte - huile sur carton entoilé
15 cm x 15 cm / 5,9" x 5,9"
sold - verkauft - vendu

This one turned out a bit tighter again - it is so difficult to keep it loose and make just the few necessary brushstrokes of the essential. I always admire watercolourists for their confidence and skill, for you have to know exactly where and how to put down your paint - there's no covering of faults, while I paint mostly by the method of trial and error.

Hi Liza,

I love this and the white looser, abstract one too. Somehow my comment wouldn't go on yesterday, so let's see if this works. This truck looks a bit moody -- so perfect for a blue truck.
I like every mode you paint in.

Fantastic.

Hi Liza

The painting of this truck is astounding! I love the composition and color and the personality you've given this proud, surly beast! I think I can almost hear the vroom of its engine.

Thank you, Barbara. This was the last one of the trucks now and when I looked at all three of them togther, I also realized that each of them seemed to have their own personality.
I wasn't aware of that before and then you said this one was moody and Marcia said it had a strong personality. So I was please that you both perceived something similar.

Gracias José, unfortunately I don't understand spanish but I was told that you hadn't written anything terrible, just a bit weird maybe...
I have no idea, but thank you all the same.

Hi Marcia, I agree, this van looks like a beast with a strong personality. I wasn't aware of that when I painted it, but looking at all three vans together, I also realized that I had given them individual personalities, which I am pleased about. They just somehow came across like that...
Thank you for your comment.
