oil on canvas panel - Öl auf Malplatte - huile sur carton entoilé
15 cm x 15 cm / 5,9" x 5,9"
Buy it hereI liked the combination of the greys at the bottom of the painting with the oranges and yellows.
And - I've found the solution for taking a photo of the finished painting. It's tricky but it works - see below:

The sense of light is beautiful in this painting. I, too, love the desaturated foreground against the colorful background - it really moves the eye into the painting.
Love your color palette and composition.
Strong and striking. Great light and color.
Good stuff liza.
Over here in the U.s. we call what you did with the camera "yankee ingenuity"
I had to laugh!
Beautiful painting, I love the morning light's warm colors.
I love the view of the sun just starting to light up the city. Nice piece, Liza!
Beautiful, Liza. You pack an amazing amount of detail into such a small format.
wonderful warm light presented here and I do light all the violet contrasts. The photo set up is really intriquing too-I have to try that!
Hi Liza,
Aren't you something! Beautiful painting, and I like all of your paintings of the city. Wish I could be there with you. Have fun!

Thanks to all of you for your kind comments! In regard to the photo set up, I would like to mention that at home I have a different camera and a proper tripod and I don't have to lay the painting horizontally to avoid reflections! This here is of course only for the time being...
Beautiful portrayal of light! The muted purples and oranges are so dynamic. Really lovely!
Thank you, Gwen!
