Rough Sea

Rough Sea by Liza Hirst

It has been very windy and rainy the last ten days and looking at the sea one feels more like being on the Atlantic Ocean in autumn than on the Mediterranean in early spring. Although that offers interesting seascapes to paint, I am eagerly waiting for better weather!

Now that's one painting I don't dare to put onto my desktop.

I actually thought about you when I saw the clips of the tsunami-not that you'd want to paint that- but your paintings are imprinted in my mind with waves. Maybe I was trying to think of something pleasant so thanks for that.

I look upon it more as a practice, René, and can well understand your comment!

That's very kind of you, Chris. I also thought of the coincidence myself of course. No, I wouldn't want to paint that for sure - it's so incredibly shocking and sad.

This painting so jumped out at me on DPO's this morning. I am looking at your blog and think you are so sensitive and masterful with capturing atmosphere. Nice.
