Until last year I had a huge, wonderful studio in which I painted small daily paintings. Now I have this tiny workspace in a corner of a room full of cardboard boxes and would love to be able to paint big paintings...hm.

Somehow it's working for you!

Liza, I love this - the random clutter - you've made a fantastic painting out of it, Brava!!!
Of course I also love the series of 'things' - elegant things - I've enjoyed that enormously too!

Great painting. Reminds me of my 'spare-bedroom' studio.

Maybe you could stagger the stacking of the cardboard boxes and lean a big canvas up there!

Hi Liza,

This is a lovely painting, and it hardly looks cluttered at all (cleaned up for the painting). Before I took over the living room and dining room I used the kitchen as my studio (and still do sometimes because it has great light). Perhaps you have a bigger room where you can go to make really big art. I'm with you there. I have a craving to do huge art. Oh how I would have loved to see that really big studio.

Yes, Kim - somehow...

Hi Marcia, so nice to hear from you again! I am very pleased you like my painting. I tend to change back and forth between painting tight and loose, and sometimes wish I could decide on one style.
Thank you for leaving your comment!

Unfortunately there's no way of stagging the cardboard boxes, A.Decker. We downsized from a place of 600sqm to 100sqm and although we got rid of A LOT of stuff, there's still too much...
But I am optimistic - I'll get to paint large canvases again sooner or later.

Barbara, I am always impressed of the fact that you paint your big paintings in your small house! I find it difficult to paint when I have to watch out not to splash paint anywhere and pack up everything over and over again.

Hi! I thought this was a big painting, I can't believe it's only 6x6in! This is fantastic.

This is a great idea for subject matter, though it must have been difficult. ? You have done a great job here!
