Japanese Anemone

Japanese Anemone by Liza Hirst

At last it is sunny and warm enough again to paint outside and the flowers in the garden are lush. I enjoyed painting them but I am not sure about the name. A French friend once gave me some offshoots and I seem to remember her referring to them as anémones japonaises. Anyway, they're among my favourite flowers.

Hi Liza,

Gorgeous painting I love the colour and the feeling of the flowers stretching up. Yes these are Japanese anemones. I have white ones in my garden just coming into bloom. They are some of my favorite flowers too.

Hi Barbara,
Thank you. Haven't been here for a few days, so I forgot to reply - sorry! Meanwhile it's become rainy and chilly again after only two nice days. Guess that's the downside of living in London. Take care!
