Islington Streetlamp II by Liza Hirst

Another one in the evening, just around the corner from where I will soon be living for a while. Love London!

you are so good at night scenes. I just bought one of your books. Eventually, I'll buy all of them.

Hi Liza,

Love the light in this. So you'll
be in London for Christmas. That will be nice. The stores are fantastic.

Thank you, Chris! I am thrilled that you bought one of my books. Which one?

Hi Barbara, thank you! We're not sure yet where we will actually be at Christmas - we might go somewhere else for a few days. But the Christmas decoration on Oxford Street was already up and shining a week ago.

I think night scenes must be one of the hardest things to paint - this is beautiful - did you do it from a photo or life?

Hi Lisa,

Thank you for your kind comment. This one is from a photo but I am planning to try painting night scenes in plein air in the future. Unfortunately I am not very good at painting in public...It will be interesting to see whether I manage to capture the atmosphere life, too.
