After Lunch, garden table in sunlight

After Lunch by Liza Hirst

One of our last lunches outside - the days are getting shorter and cooler (just a little bit). As the sun has already wandered to the other side of the house, we drink our after lunch coffee there - might paint that tomorrow...

How nice to put a chair ready already!!

I like the greens against the soft yellows. I do how ever wonder if you ever used a palette knife to put in the foliage?

Beautiful setting!

Hi René,
Come on by and have a seat!
No, I NEVER use a palette knife - I don't like the look of paintings done with a palette knife. I used a flat brush for the whole painting.

Hi Liza,

It has turned so cold here that this painting already feels like it's part of another time. I love it. Of course
I haven't been there -- just in my
imagination and I thoroughly enjoyed
the visit.

Hi Barbara,
Its quite chilly in the morning - only 5° celsius but at midday it climbs up to 23° which is great!
A few days ago we even sat outside in the evening until 9.30 - in warm jumpers, mind you...
The moon was nearly full and very bright and we lit a candle in a windlight - so romantic!
