To the Studio

To the Studio by Liza Hirst

When I come up the stairs, I can look through the house from one end to the other and even see the outside in front of my studio. I always enjoy that - especially when the sun is setting and the golden light floods through the studio into the hallway. But - no sun today, so here's the hallway with the electric lights on, seen from the other direction than last time.

Liza, I love interiors and this is so beautifully structured.

In my imagination I'm walking down that hallway, maybe even in bare feet, maybe even running. Exhilarating. I always love the feeling of space and light and pattern in your work.

Thanks you, Marcia, for your kind words about my work!
I do walk along here barefoot every morning, because one of these doors leads to our bedroom.

Hi Liza,

The internet stores must have closed in the states. It has been almost impossible to get on the internet. In
my imagination I am standing in this hallway with you, we're carrying cups of coffee and heading to your studio.

Any chance you can get cheap tickets to Italy this week!!!!!!

I forgot to say that as usual the painting is sheer genius.

Oh Barbara, you are sooo sweet!!!
Funny you should imagine us walking along the hallway with coffee, because that's exactly what I do when I have my painting class! Inbetween I go down to the kitchen and prepare coffee and tea for my pupils. We do make it enjoyable for us!
How I wish, I could hopp over to Italy, believe me! But unfortunately there are hardly any cheap flights to anywhere from France - I don't know , someone must have his thumb on that in this country...

Liza, I've been enjoying these interiors. This one is especially striking. I love the little glimpses of your beautiful home.
