To some of you this still life might seem familiar as I have painted this corner and the tins before. They are old and a bit rusty, but very nice with "coffee" and "sugar" stamped into the metal on the front. Today it was the sunlight beaming onto the tins and the reflections this created, as well as the shadows on the wall which made me attempt it again.

Liza - All your paintings of late have a freshness to them, an emotional depth - the color is fabulous - also the compositions. this is one more superlative example of it!!!!

I LOVE it, it much much more painterly done and yet you show different details then in your other (older) work. The reflection for for that matter, is much more vibrant and there for much more alive. I really like this new approach and looking forward to the development.

Dear Martha, dear René,
I should have replied to your comments days ago - so sorry for that! I am pleased you notice the change in my paintings - I find it surprising myself how evidently the change of my situation reflects in my work.
Thank you both very much for commenting so thoughtfully!
