I am beginning to like acryliques! As they dry much quicker than oil, even on the brush the paint tends to be dry sometimes, which can create interesting layers of paint on the canvas. The only difficulty occurs when one wants to re-use the same colour as a few minutes ago - it often has already dried up and has to be mixed again from scratch.

Hi Liza
Lovely color and light in this one. I like to use acrylics sometimes as well, and I will keep a spray bottle of water and give the palette a misting from time to time to keep the color mixes a little longer. I enjoy the quick drying time that allows for some nice glazes.

Hi Liza, yep, that is one of the drawbacks to acrylics but there are so many benefits I just always go running back to them. This Dutch lanscape really captures the still, cool light of Holland and it has an "eternal" feel to it(your painting I mean).

This scene is so peaceful, it's relaxing to look at.

Hi Catherine, such a good idea with the spray bottle! Thanks for the tip and the kind comment.
And "Happy Easter" to you!

Thank you, Sheila! I will stick to acryliques for a while now as I am slowly getting a feel for them. And they are so much more practical when travelling!I am pleased you like my painting and wish you a very happy Easter!

Hi Kerri, it was a beautiful cool morning and hardly anybody was around yet. I am pleased you see that in the painting and let me know...

Good feeling of sunlight in this one.

I tend to proceed too hesitantly in a painting to enjoy the quick-drying acrylics, although I occasionally use them as underpainting for oil just for that reason.

You seem to be getting a good feel for the medium.
